How it works...

 

This online competition is formulated to view aspects of each potential act from all angles, using our standard scoring system, as part of entry your act will be scored and you will receive your score and feedback as part of entry. We are open to acts of all types and genres. Read below to see the process.

Application Online Opens 25th July 2026

 

Apply online by submitting a video or music track to our A&R Department via the enter page. A&R will then listen to your music, and score your music on our standard scoring system which is out of 100. You will be marked on musical technique, rhythmic accuracy, overall execution and originality. Each category has 25 points as the maximum. As part of entry, you will receive your scores and a written report on each category outlined above, with constructive feedback and pointers on what you did well and where the judge could see potential, as well as any positive pointers for improvements.

 

Entry Remains Open from 25th July 2026 to 25th September 2026

 

You will receive your scores from the A&R Department via email as well as any optional extras you have selected within 7 days of entering the competition platform no matter what date you applied on within the application window. We pride ourselves on providing great in depth feedback to encourage entrants to take their music further, and offer the vital service of getting impartial industry feedback on your music. We are all about music and will give you information and review how to take your music further.

Entry Closes on 25th September 2026 results published 1st October 8pm

Entry closes and all the scores from all the acts will totalled up with 1 act being declared the national online SoundWaves Music Competition UK Winner 2026. The winners music and information about the winner will be published on our Facebook Page and here on our website. Best of luck to everyone!
