ABOUT THE COMPETITION

 

At SoundWaves Music Competition UK we live for music and were founded to give music artists who win the competition including bands, solo singers, duos and groups of all genres an unforgettable multinational platform to gain invaluable media exposure from and the opportunity to perform on some of the most iconic stages in the music industry. As part of the competition we have a fully staffed A&R segment with a management and events promotions arm. SoundWaves Music Competition is launching music competition searches in Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Birmingham and London offering opportunities to develop and launch music, while simultaneously connecting artists with existing and new fans. In a music world today where live shows are one of the biggest aspects of the industry this competition is all about the live performance.

THE PROCESS  

How it works

 

The competition is formulated to view aspects of each potential act from all angles, so we can research the acts with the most potential. We are open to acts of all types and genres. What sets us apart from other music competition platforms is our ability to create a platform that links artists to A&R, live events, music producers and more as you progress through the competition, especially at the later stages. Each stage gets more prestigious and bigger.

Application Online

Apply online for a chance to compete within the competition, if successful you will be invited to submit a video to us. We will then select the best videos from all submitted and invite you to perform in a live audition festival at an intimate music venue in your nearest city. During this stage acts are judged solely on musical ability and performance capabilities shown in the video.

 

Live SoundWaves Music Showcases

 

If your video submission is successful you will be invited to perform at a Live Audition SoundWaves Music UK Festival event at an intimate venue where you will compete for a place in The Checkpoint Stage. Verbal feedback will also be given to you after your performance during this stage and we only use carefully selected judges who's goal is to help and grow the artists they discover. This stage is also an opportunity to network with our in-house A&R.

The Checkpoint Stage - Video

 

The lucky acts that successfully finished highest in the Live Auditions will compete in The Checkpoint Stage where it will be decided which acts get the opportunity of a lifetime to perform on the mainstage at some of the best  and most prestigious venues within the UK as part of SoundWaves including O2 Academy Newcastle, O2 Academy Leeds, O2 Academy2 Birmingham and O2 Academy Islington in front of guest judges and performers in a bid to win. Only the best and highest standard acts will reach this stage. After this, the last stage will be a huge national final where one national winner is selected to get a UK Tour and the listed prizes.
